Our staffing firm is supporting a client that is expanding their accounting team and seeking a dependable Accounts Receivable Specialist. This position involves handling complex billing activities, managing customer accounts, and ensuring accurate financial records. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working with detailed data and multiple systems. The company is located in The Woodlands, Texas.
What You'll Do
- Handle progress-based, milestone, or percentage-of-completion billing
- Manage day-to-day Accounts Receivable activity and customer account updates
- Build and interpret pivot tables, run VLOOKUPs, and use other advanced Excel functions
- Submit invoices and documentation through various online billing portals
- Assist with month-end responsibilities, including reconciliations and reporting
This role requires staying late at month-end and working weekends when the final day of the month falls on Saturday or Sunday
- Use the company's ERP platform to process, track, and reconcile transactions
- Participate in weekly review calls and clearly communicate AR status and aging insights
- Enter data with high accuracy and maintain organized financial records
- Work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Support audit, sales tax, and other general accounting processes as needed
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Hands-on Accounts Receivable experience
- Solid Excel capabilities (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
- Experience working with billing portals
- Proficiency with ERP systems
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work well individually and in a team setting
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable leading AR discussions in recurring internal meetings
Preferred:
- Background in manufacturing
- Exposure to audit or sales tax processes
- Accounting degree or current enrollment in an accounting program
